I've been asked to order parts for a panel amp meter (with an upper-limit
alarm relay). They've specified to use a current transformer rather than
than a 4-20mA transducer type sensor. Max amps will be ~35 AC Amps.
Newport has a 500:5 donut
(http://www.newportus.com/Products/ACurrVol/MFO.htm) for $27. This gives me
a .35A signal for 35A input (?).
A 1A panel meter with alarm is $185 (http://www.texmate.com/leopard/1.html).
This can be scaled x100 so a .35A signal reads "35".
Is anything else needed? Note: A qualified electrician will be hooking this
up.
