    I recently received a Coby DVD Home Theatre system and I'm trying to hook the system to my RCA tv. The speakers connect to the woofer with one cable, and the woofer has the red/white that connects to the tv, but when I turn it on and there is no sound. Am I doing this wrong or is it only for the dvd player?

    The dvd player also has the A/V hookups which would obviously be for the sound system but I don't want sound just for movies.

    Note The speakers do work when I plug either the red or white into the headphone jack behind the tv, but then I would only have sound from the one side.

    Normally I'm alright with hooking up electronics but right now I'm stumped.
