    Probably a faulty input, the hiss is probably the amplifier just idling with no input...

    That is a loaded question, you will have to track down where it's failing... That requires taking it apart, identifying what's inside and then testing each stage to see where the fault lies...

    Have you checked the obvious like say the docking port, or any other lose physical connections?
