    This is the only source I have found for calculating the voltage to air gap
    ratio for relatively small gaps .001-.019 inch. Note that the calculations
    start at 400 VDC. An arc will not start thru air at less that 327VDC.

    Cirris manufactures excellent cable harness testing systems.
    Only slightly off the topic of "zapping chips" in the previous post.
