I have found this bandpass filter design on the net:
    http://www.radio-electronics.com/info/circuits/opamp_band_pass_filter/op_amp_bandpassfilter.php
I understand how to build and configure it, and It is also ideal for my project. But in order to use it as part of my A level coursework, I must provide a component level explanation as to how it works. As this circuit is not in the textbook, this is proving rather difficult for me.
A quick and simple explanation as to how it works the way it does would be great, but as with all things electronic, the explanation is rarely quick and simple ;)
Any help would be much appreciated

This is called a multiple feedback topology.

Read chapter 16 (specifically 16.5.1.2) in this book (PDF).
There you will find a very detailed explanation of the filter operation.

    Thanks!
This is so much more detailed than the textbook we are currently using...
Will definitely be referring to this in future.
    cheers ;)
