yes, it's a bridge (it has 4 legs like a sheep). But its not a Wheatstone bridge.

If only you knew how close you are!

Think Wool. Think sheep. Think bridges!

OK, my last question.. A bridge that has four legs is a full wave Bridge rectifier?

Could it be an ancient Schering bridge? (In pretty damn good condition it appears!)

Ding ding ding ding ding...

We have a winner!

This is a type 4550 Schering Bridge manufactured by H Tinsley & Co Ltd of London S.E.25. It is No 170.701 and refers to Switch patent 616684.

It is in a beautiful wooden box, and it looks really good inside. I will provide pictures later.

The more I find out about Schering bridges, the more intrigued I am with it.

Here are some pictures:

First, the whole unit

Next, the calibration sticker

What's under the covers:

A closer look at some of the low inductance resistors

And a look between the covers (the switch contacts are here)

And finally, something with a date on it

Haha, that was terrible..

Schering as in 'shearing'?
I prefered Adam's Kamikazee sheep.:p
