Looking for some advice for a little project and thought this would be a good place to start..

I need to make something that, when you put power to it, it applies power to a led for 2 seconds or so, then shuts off, probably pretty simple but wouldn't know where to start? What forum should I post my question in?

    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.

Your question would be suitably posted in the General Electronics Discussion section - but the device you're looking for is a 'one-shot' timer. This can be implemented using the 555 timer or even very simply using a transistor and RC time constant.

Post as advised and see what turns up!
