help with identifying a component

    hi folks i wonder if anyone could help identifiying a component out of a power supply which 240volts go into it and it kicks out between 1 and 12 volts which is ajustable via dial.

    the part which blown had 3 prongs on the bottom of it then is black with a piece of metal above with a hole,,

    it has this wrote on it in this order H316

    24104a
    phil
    ideally i would like to know what this part does and if i can source it locally from somewhere like maplins, or a alternate part they sell,as there codes are different

    Whoa, 1 hour and 10 minutes and you're already getting impatient... Hehe...
    Just google TOP224 (with or without the Y) and you'll get a quarter of a million hits. Please get back to us if you have more questions than those answered by doing that.
