Hello, and thanks for reading! I'm looking for help with a switching power supply; I'd just like to know if it's operating properly. Since I know absolutely nothing about electronics, I'm here. The equipment is a model GPE603-140400W from "Golden Profit Electronics Ltd." (and may I add that as a capitalist I absolutely love their name). It has been powering a Cambridge Soundworks radio which went dark the other day. I need, first, to decide if the problem is in the radio or with the power supply.

The supply has an LED which is flashing green about once a second and makes an audible click in synchrony. Is this normal?

Can I (and how can I) test the output with an ordinary VOM?

Periodic clicking sounds from a switchmode power supply is never a good sign.

I suspect that something is shorted, and a prime suspect is the output rectifiers.
