# Help sorting out this circuit

Hi,

I am not a very skilled electronics guy, Im having a hard time sorting out which resistor are in parallell and series with eachother. I would appreciate if someone could explain it to me

No, was just reading a cybernetics book and came about this, it has been a long time since I have seen a circuit. I probably should have posted this under another section.

That's o.k., it just looked like a typical assignment from a textbook.

In this circuit R5+R6 are examples of a series connection.
R4 and R7 are examples of a parallel connection.

You can replace each pair by an equivalent single resistor to simplify the circuit. You can then go on and simplify the new circuit after the same fashion.

Thanks,so by replacing R3 and R6 with a single resistor, will the "new" resistor be in parallell with R5? I was rather confused by the horizontal wire after R3 and R6.

No,
R5+R6 are in series and can be combined to a single resistor which in turn is in parallel to R3 and so on.
The orientation of the wires is irrelevant, only the connections between the resistors count. You may draw the wires as doodles, if you like
