Help Flexible Flat Cable Connector

    Can anyone help me with this connector. I can not figure out how to open it and lock the cable in place. It is from aa Anova Sous Vide circulator.

    This looks like a PCB edge-connector socket with some sort of retention mechanism on the ends. Is the cable attached to a PCB paddle board? Unless there is hardware (latches, whatever) on the mating piece, it does not appear that there is anything on the socket that would allow you to "open it and lock the cable in place."

    Agreed .... unless the little lever has been broken off

    NOTE the grey section, the central part is wedge shaped and pushes the cable contacts against the connector contacts as can be seen in the OP's pic
