Hello, need a little help with this?

    So, I have a very powerful server with 2 power supplies labeled as (each)


    • FREQUENCY:50/60Hz
    • INPUT:176V-264V~ 15A MAX (what does this mean)
    • OUTPUT:1800W(MAX) +12.0V—150A

    I’ll be getting an electrician to install a 220v plug in for my home which is located in Canada Calgary with the normal being 120v at 15 amps

    My question is that if I switch up to the 220v being installed in my house would it be enough for the 2 (1800 walts) labeled above? I also think I’ll be installing a 20 amp or 30 so it’s able to handle it?

    It means it can handle any mains input voltage between those two values and still produce a stable output

    You need to show the electrician those spec's BEFORE he starts work so that he can do the appropriate cabling
    and 220V outlet requirements for the required current ( up to 15A) ... that isnt a standard 10A 220V cable and socket requirement

    1800w on a standard 10A outlet @220v It's only 8A afterall.should be no problem or cause for anything out of the ordinary with regard to cabling.

    It's only 8A after all.
    Your toaster, jug and clothes dryer pulls way more than that.

    Not only that but that rating is the maximum it can deliver.
    More important info would be the draw of the server.

    Sorry, for the aside, but confused.
    Isn't he on 120v & has 240volt appliances
    " switch up to the 220v being installed in my house" - Is it standrard in Canada to be able to specify either?

    In Canada each house has 240VAC center-tapped. Then there are two bands of 120V live and neutral or both lives producing 240VAC for high power like electric stoves, clothes dryers and air conditioners.

    Since he will have two times 1800W running all the time, the electricity bill will be VERY high.
