    Hi all,
I need a headphone amplifier circuit to drive my 32 Ohms stereo headphone.
but the only condition is that the circuit will work with 5v dc. When googled, i saw a circuit with LM4880. but that circuit gives only 65mW to a 32 Ohms headphone. I need a maximum power output of 100 mW. Plz help me. Thanks in advance.

There are many headphone amplifier ICs out there. Go to a major supplier like digikey or mouser (in US) and search for them.

    Hi,

Also they are no difference between audio amplifier and headphone amplifier. It's the available output power which determine the usage, so your query can be wider. The TBA820M it's a popular 1watt audio amplifier you can use.

    Thanks BobK and OLIVIER,
I had an ic named TDA 2822 and a circuit with it. that circuit is 1w with 4 Ohms speaker. Is that circuit enough for my 32 Ohms headphone?.

    Hi Vinod,

Yes it will be OK for 32ohms load. The higher the load impedance the easier for the amplifier.

The LM4861 from National looks really nice. 1W into 8 Ohm. 2-5.5 V supply. Direct connection of speaker and unity gain stable. I just ordered a few of them myself. Only difficulty is it is SOP package, if you need a DIP you are out of luck. You can get SOP to DIP adaptors though.
