I produced a board description using EAGLE. The prototype is here,
and I'm detailing a component order.
I have socketed a few of the parts, and the sockets don't appear
anywhere in the EAGLE files. I wish that those files were so complete
that the BOM was complete without editing.
I'm very comfortable with my ability to use EAGLE, I have even
produced a few parts from the data sheets, and the authentic part
works on the resulting board.
I have made a schematic named socket with no pins, and produced a
package with no pads, and a device that combines them. The device can
be added to the schematic, but is not visible. It does show up in the
BOM.
Are there better ideas?
