I've just repaired a Grundig TV ( a Cuc2030 chassis ).... some bad solder
joints and a blown resistor fuse... Now it works fine, or at least I thought
so. When I push the mainboard in place the TV turns off.....( Did this with
power on to try to pinpoint the exact moment of shutdown, I usually don't do
this with power on :-].. ). I've tried to poke around and wiggle the cables
looking for more bad solder joints....with no result. I've also tried better
grounding for the Dag. Anybody have an idea?

You will have to work the old fashioned way of finding the bad solder
connection(s). There are many parts in the set that would cause the
type of shutdown you are describing!

Hi........ I have had similar problems here.
The solder work is terrible on this chassis and you need to check several
things.
There is a blue capacitor just south of the sips IC that goes dry joint on
one end and often burns the panel.make sure this joint is good or the
chopper will pop.
The main problems however are poor joints on the frame and regulator IC's.
They are all clipped to the metal heat sink which runs n-south down the
chassis. Although the joints may look oK they are definitely NOT.Check
around all the other HOT places like the scan coil connector /plug/socket
LOPT connections and chopper transformer connections also.
Good luck.
