    Wouldn't a switching regulator IC be more efficient?

    Do you have a circuit diagram rather than a PCB layout?

    And what do you need us to do? Is there a question?

    No, just a couple of diodes should be enough.

    However I might consider using the solar panel to charge some batteries and run the circuit from the batteries.

    i get green, i get detector.....
    do you want us to give you ideas on what to detect?
    or ideas on making a bug zapper solar powered?
    or do you want the circuit diagram for a PIR?

    I wan the idea on what to detect and the schematis.. Cant be too compliated as single side PCB only :(
