    Hi everyone.

I'm a mechanical engineer, so I can work things out, but I don't have an inherent knowledge of electrical or electronics, so I hope someone can help me out.

The item in question is an electric assist golf trolley for carrying a golf bag.
I have the cable as attached in the photo which needs repair. The red and black ends attach to the positive and negative on a lead acid leisure battery (12V 36Ah) I have two questions

    1) I need to replace the 6mm ring connectors. But the ones I've looked at are rated at an amperage. Some are 5 amps, some 30amps. Which should I choose? Is it related to the 36Ah rating of the battery?

    2) Can anyone identify the three pin black connector that goes in the Linix motor? It has a half moon notch cut out of it.

    Many thanks

Look at the rating of the fuse that is in line with the positive cable, if its 5 or less you can use the 5A rated ones, but if its over that (say 7 or 10) youll need to get higher rated ones, by rights you should use higher rated terminals than the fuse.

    This should be the plug

    Great, thanks.

Well it had a number 30 written on the fuse, so I got some 30amp rated terminals (the highest I could buy from Halfords).

I couldn't find the specs of this golf trolley, but similar ones seem to have motors about 180 - 200W, with 12V battery's.

    So 180 / 12 = 15Amps. So 30 should cover all bases.

Now how about the other end of the cable. The three pin connector. Anyone got any ideas?

Surprise surprise, the guys in Maplin didn't have a scooby

The link to the connector is in GreenGiant's post.

    the other cable

Now I've discovered the other controller cable has broken. Some of the wires have come loose and I don't know which way they go back.

Can anyone either help me with a colour label diagram of this connector, or tell me what connector it is so I can buy a new one?

    Thanks

    Resolution

Well, I would have ideally like to have known what the cables were. Unfortunately green giant's link just gives me a place to buy a new one, but doesn't tell me what it is. Anyway, I repaired it by figuring out the wiring configuration for the controller cable. See photo
