I purchase from Global from time to time and I always bought their
generic line of belts from them for a quantity of one or more and
never had a problem even though their paperback catalog states a
minimum of 5 pieces.I ignored that because their paperback catalog
always had mistakes and no one on the other end of the phone line
stated that they had a problem with me buying only one or several
belts of each size even 3 weeks ago.

Today I placed an order and the lady on the end did not allow me to
buy one or several belts but instead I had to buy a quantity of 5
belts for each size or part #,I mean it is bad enough that the cost of
parts and shipping has gone up but now we have to buy more belts?you
know we seldom go through many belts like we use to in vcrs, stereos
and the like.I still have about $250 worth in vcr idler tire kit and
about $100 in older vcr belt kits.

My question those of you who buy frequently from Global are you forced
to buy the 5 piece minimum or did you always buy the 1 or several
quantities that you needed like me?also if it did change to a minimum
of 5 belts when did the change occur?.By the way their minimum
purchase order for any purchase of goods went up from $20 to $25.The
lady today said that OEM minimum orders are only $5 this is the first
time I heard about this can anyone enlighten me about it too?.Thanks
for letting me vent.

Sidney Have you tried just buying from them online
I have never had a problem by doing this.
Never have purchased from them over the Phone
just to much hasell.
The only problems I have with them are when I get on
the phone tracing a Back Order with them.
Been buying from them for 8 years ...

I have bought from them, but never bought in a small quantity of anything.
Many of these distributors do not want to make small invoices, due to their
overhead costs.

The company that I work for has a policy of a minimum of $60 US for billing,
or they will not do the sale. The only exception is if it is for a customer
that usually makes large purchases, and he suddenly needs a favour.

If there are some local electronics distributors in your area that sell
general electronics service parts, you may be best off to buy from them at
retail for such a small item. They would be the ones to have to order the
quantity to sell you one item, if they have enough clients for this. This
can relieve you of a lot of stress, and the bother to go through this type
of thing.
