Generator comparison

Eu2000 and the Sport 1850
Both have the minimum watts I need I think?
Anyone here compared the noise levels?
Specs show the coleman at 69 db 7 feet away. How much worse is that than
the hone at 59 db in the real world?
Will they both run one of the newer energy efficiant fridges mines has a
run of 1.2 amps..........I dont know what the surge is. I know that the
servo defrost timers dont like inverters ( no big deal in an emergency
can be turned manualy)
The honda says it has a true sine wave but I dont see specs for the
coleman???
Also I dont see specs that say the coleman has throttle control or is it
even a inverter generator? It sure is a hell of alot cheaper though.
This will be used for emegency home use (with a male male cheater cord
lol) and some camping

There is no comparison the honda wins. Coleman I dought is regulated
power, the noise difference will be noticable. Hondas site has a
refrence to db-noise. 10 db could be related as 3x volume, also see if
hondas is rated at 3 or 7 ft. fuel efficiency and life of unit make
Honda your best choise, but of course you pay more for it.

62 is twice as loud as 59. 65 is twice as loud as 62, 68 is twice as
loud as 65. So at least 8 times louder, probably a bit more.

You are comparing a $400 generator to a $900 generator and you get what you pay
for, (sometimes less). That said, I would expect either of these units to run
your 'fridge. The extra money for the inverter generator buys you less noise,
less fuel burn, (I hope) better reliability, and a cleaner waveform.

The Coleman is NOT an inverter generator, it must always operate at high RPM to
create 60 Hz....so there will not be a huge difference in its noise/fuel burn
between low and maximum load. The main advantage of an inverter-type generator
is when you operate it at less than its maximum load (such as with your fridge).
It will rev up for a moment to handle the startup load and then purr quietly,
daintily sipping gas, while it produces the 1.2 amps run current for your
fridge. My EU2000 happily runs my large (not terribly efficient) 2-door fridge
while purring so quietly that I have to walk outside to tell if it is running.
I forget the exact figure, but it will run my fridge for well over 8 hours on a
single gallon of gas.

I like the Hondas but if the inverter goes out you will need to buy a new
geni.
