Generate 5KV pulse with microcontroller control

    Hello,

    I want to design a circuit which can generate a pulse of 5KV. On time of pulse should be 300 millisecond and off time should be 1.2 second. I have already generated a pulse of required time duration with PIC18F4550 but it's of 5V. So now I want to convert from 5V to 5KV. I need simplest solution.

    Please suggest me the circuit. Is there any direct IC available or not?

    I'm not sure it is a good idea to support this topic. 5 kV are really dangerous and you seem (as per your question) to lack the required experience in dealing with such a voltage. You should in my opinion not try to tackle this project with only remote help via a forum (not this, not any other).
    If you can't take your hands off this project, for the sake of your own safety get expert help and supervision from someone near you who can actually supervise your work, check it for safety issues and give you the necessary advice.

    I'll therefore close this thread and leave it to my fellow mods to re-open it in case I may have overreacted.
