GE/Zenith Projector set-up

Hi everyone

I am investigating the GE Imager CRT projector that has been donated to our
club. Essentially,
we do not know much about it apart from the information given on the base as
follows:

Model: PSC9910E
GE Service Number: KPGEPRO840PAL
Serial Number: 042-74500017
Manufacture: Mexico 1990

I have deduced so far that it's actually a re-badged Zenith PRO840 (or very
similar), and when
powered up the 3 tubes seem to work fine, giving a plain white display.
However, we would like
to use this equipment for the benefit of our members, but as we have no
manuals or remote
control (as I believe it should have), I'm not sure how to check that it's
operational before I ask
our club to spend some of its hard earned money...

So, my questions are these:
1. Do I need the remote to carry out out any testing at all or am I stuck
without it ?
2. As I understand this projector doesn't have an internal tuner, I guess a
quick test would be
to connect a VCR/DVD to it inputs, but is there any restriction or
particular type I need for
the projector ie. the projector has a BNC input as well as an RCA "VCR
Y/C" (?) input.
3. I also believe from my research that the projector has an internal menu
system to set it up. However,
when the "Menu" button is pressed when the projector is turned on
nothing happens except the
screen flickers a little ? Should it, or am I expecting something that
doesn't happen ?

Anyway, enough for now, but any help or advice you could provide would be
much appreciated

Thanks

Steve

I do not know your model in particular, but most are similiar from the
user point of view. You will need the origional remote for most
models to get in to the menu and make changes, or make selections.

Ask the people who gave it to you, if they have the remote. Or,
contact GE or Zenith to order one.

A universal remote will not be able to allow you to get in to the
setups. It is recomended to have the origional.

Thanks for this....

I've tried contacting GE and Zenith (via LG) with little success...

I don't suppose you might know/recommend an alternative supplier ?? bearing
in mind I don't know the part number of the remote I need (or even know what
it looks like !!)....

Thanks

Steve
