Not sure that's a fair title on this board. More like a parts changer but never-the-less.

I replace 1200 dollar circuit boards because of a bad pico fuse since a Cat 1 Div 1 hazardous location is not conducive to repairs. I have a few questions so came to learn. No reason parts can't be fixed at home.

It would seem that something else is wrong if you are blowing fuses, or is this a defective design with undersized fuses and you're fitting fuses with a higher current rating? That also seems wrong given the scenario.

Can't you just move out of the hazardous location a few dozen yards to do the repair since we're only talking about a fuse, in your vehicle no less so there is no fume concentration?

That was a gross over exageration I guess. Many other problems with field repairs on a circuit board. Yes. Shouldn't be blowing fuses but power surges do happen and a non replaceable pico fuse was never a good idea.
