Hi group

Patient - 1 very expensive display unit for a wind turbine regulator .

All the LED displays are damaged - one is blackened ! . I need to
replace them all .

The number is UPS5161BH and these are about 15mm high (outside size)
and 10mm digit height with decimal point on right hand side , The pins
are top and bottom of the display, 5 each AFAIK .

It seems to have taken a near direct strike - I have never seen an LED
display this badly damaged before .

Please phone 01481 257551 if you find a supplier or have four of these
displays - this is urgent . Thanks !

You have a bigger problem than you think. The visible damage is a
symptom of invisible damage. Very likely the control electronics is
history.

Not only history, but modern art as well ! ;-)

I've ordered all new semis - luckily they are all socketed .

Thanks - Andre

Sounds like generic 7-segment displays. The only feature you need to
ascertain is whether they are common anode or common cathode. Then
you need to find out why the driver blew them up so it doesn't do the
same thing to the new ones. Check the power supply for shorted
regulator.
