Hope you can help here!

I have a French VCR - Philips VR656/39. There is a problem with the casette
mechanism that I think is due to a missing part.

I have posted two pictures at http://web.onetel.net.uk/~pwa/video/vcr.html -
there are two linked parts (the yellow and black parts in the first picture)
which move freely in the direction of the red arrows. By this I mean that I
can move them with my finger (the second picture shows them after a little
movement) - they do not appear to be linked to any other parts - hence my
guess that something is missing.

Anyone have any clues?

Hi, KotF (?)

There is a part missing that steers that aggregate, on one side it is
guided by the big round white wheel (in the outer guide) and on the
other a kind of V sized lever that steers the whole. It is a small
white plastic part of about 2 centimeters lond, with a small hole in
the middle to fit on a small pin close to that round steering wheel.
It is part of a kit obtainable from Philips. If you wish I can look at
the order numbers for that, tomorrow at my work.
I will be able to post it tomorrow evening.

(would be fine to have your name. )
