Anyway, nearly ready for the Xmas break - turkey's plucked and stuffed
- all we have to do now is catch it and kill it!

All the best to all for Xmas and the new year.

They miss the general spirit in specifics, that complexity and
obfuscation leads to degradation, dependency and domination. Like the
IRS tax codes, big enough to hide elephants, donkeys and pigs in.

Windows software is like soda laced with crack, or cigarettes with
boosted nicotine.

Micro$oft needs another class-action enema.

I often run into very smart and knowledgeable people who are genuinely
impressed with MS products. They usually tell me about how some new
bell or whistle is so amazing. Basic functionality isn't a priority
with these techs, but they are smart, so I conclude that it's a
psychological thing.

For example, undeleting a file over a network was considered a basic
function in Netware 20 years ago. It's just amazing to me that so much
work can go into a product like 2003 server and they don't provide basic
functions like that. (Oh yeah, and the salvage program would even
restore previous versions of modified files -- not just deleted files.)

All the best to all for Xmas and the new year.

Same to you!

I allways thought Bloat ware was the result of Programmers misusing Classes
and Inheritance. Afterall MFC apps were fat.

Hello,

When I hear to the read/write head in the HDD chattering away while the PC
is booting I know that the Windows OS is a total load of *£%&&!.
I prefer to say Happy Christmas but an American friend of mind insisted I
say "Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year" instead so what comes out of my
mouth at any one time is one or the other formula. Maybe I should keep a
check on the number of times I say each phrase and work out the probability
that one or the other combination will actually issue from my larynx. :)

Sure, MS sucks. True *nixophiles know that no file can ever be undeleted.
If you wanted it, you shouldn't have been so stupid as to delete it, or you
should have backed it up before you stupidly deleted it.
