Hi, all

I am trying this for a friend. P4 PC, Windows XP and FlyVideo 3000 TV/tuner
card. All works fine until we try to do capture.
It appears that capture can only be done in two formats -- MPEG and AVI.
MPEG gives pretty bad quality, while AVI quality is great, but file is
uncompressed. As a result, 80G HDD gets full in about 20 minutes.

How do I change compression type? I checked all possible settings in the
FlyVideo software and on video codecs in control panel.

Thanks,
Rudolf

USe a different piece of capture software, such as virtualdub or
avi_io. USe an mjpeg codec, or huffyuv(which is lossless).
While it may be possible to change codecs with the flyvideo software,
you'll probaby find the above mentioned software much better.

You don't, however it sounds like you're not using the latest version of the
software. The latest will give you the option to save in: MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI
(uncompressed), VCD, SVCD or DVD formats. I've found that the MPEG2 capture
was acceptable, (for me), for grabbing VHS stuff.

Or if you use something like VirtualVCR you can choose what codec you want to
use: http://www.digtv.ws

Plus it's free :)
