Is there any problem with leaving flux residue on the circuit board after a
    repair?

Brush it off with isopropyl alcohol, this is a great idea you might also
spot fine solder shorts, that would be covered by flux.

  3. Removal of the flux and inspection after doing so tends to produce a "more
professional" appearing job. Realizing that it does take a bit more time,
however, as stated, finding that little solder flake between traces or a
poorly flowed connection could save aggrivation later?? Cheers

I've encountered boards with 20+ year old flux residue on them and no
apparent problems, but it starts looking really ugly, so I clean it off.

In high frequency RF stuff it might cause problems?

    Might it capture moisture?
