I applied more than 150 v AC while in the ohms mode. now the ohms display keeps changing with the leads shorted and. the ac volts is very inaccurate. what new meter is equal to the Fluke 77. Is the fluke 115 in the same league regarding accuracy? any assistance would be greatfully apprecated.

Have you checked the fuses?

You can still get the fluke 77, though the newer one would be the 87

As far as accuracy almost all flukes are in the same league, there are some with higher precision (more digits) and more functions, but as far as accuracy, dont worry too much about it, unless there is one particular measurement that you want higher precision with, current for example, there are some meters that can go into the smaller units of amperage

Hope this helps

Thanks GreenGiant, I checked the battery but I could find only 1 fuse. Is there more than one?

I've got a 77 III,
It uses a Bussmann DMM-44/100, and a Bussmann DMM-11.
Do you have a Fluke 77 with a model number (mine's '3', in Roman Numerals), or
just a straight Fluke 77?
