I have a FLUKE 199C that has always worked very well; After a long period of inactivity (more than a year) I have restarted it after recharging the battery, it works all the time, except for the total lack of tracks on both channels. FLUKE assistance tells me that the input chips have failed, but it is not possible that they have failed with a power off; I suggest that it has always been kept in a dry and air conditioned place. I would be grateful if you could help me put it back in operation.

Sounds like a tricky one. Other than taking good care of the unit, what makes you think that it is not the input chips? I think we can both agree that they should stay working when treated right, sometimes chips just fail. Either way, here's a service manual that we can start with: Service Manual
