Ferguson Tuned out

I Have a Ferguson tv about 6 years old, tried to tune in a video channel
through hand set, no tuning info came up on screen, now I cannot get any
channels at all, just snow, the tv just has two small red lines where the
channel number usually appears, tried turning off from the mains hoping it
would reset but nothing just the two red lines. question .Is there a
sequence off buttons on the hand set that I can press to reset the tv.The
hand set has PR CH and I with four buttons below red , green , yellow ,
blue. any help appreciated the kids are going nuts

what writing do you get on the screen when you press
PR
CH
red
green
yellow
blue
buttons in turn?

Note: CH stands for Channel that is the frequency channel number of the TV
station.
and PR stands for program number.

Dont understand your meaning. Do not see anything bar "snow". I cannot get
the tv to respond to remote at all.
PS Have changed batteries
