I'd like to know where I can find that extruded aluminum for making
    enclosures.
It's actually 2 extruded pieces that fit together to form the top and
    bottom.
End caps or plates screw onto the ends to keep it together...

For hobby work, this work be great...
I can just hack off what length I need..

I know Heeger Inc can hack off custom lengths for me.
    As seen on
    http://www.lmbheeger.com/products.asp?catid=68
But I don't want all the PCB mounting grooves.
I can't mount semi's to the walls for cooling.. :(
However, I do like how the top and bottom join with a tongue and
    groove joint.

    Any source suggestions?

    Details
    1mm to 1.5mm Al thickness
    H~1" W~2" L=8" to 16"
Somewhat interlocking top and bottom halves
    Raw unpainted unanodized finish
    Has end pieces

This is a Hammond box, pretty nice, but it does have grooves on the
    side wall...

so you'd have to heatsink to the bottom somehow. It's anodized, but
the end-plate mounting screws bite into the sides and the sliding top
    plate, so everything's connected.

  4. You should see what my semi feral cat exctruded into my shower
    yesterday, so
    1) minimum food for it, minimum shit out
    2) minimum food in, maximum grovelling, but opening the fridge can be
    traumatic

I read that cats can be trained to use the toilet..
    Theres a blurp on wikipedia...
Unfortunately, there was no answer to "what if a cat already has the
habit of drinking from the toilet?"

mmm excremented + extruded = exctruded

Now that word would be useful to described the difference between
    extruded and non-extruded excrement.
Extruded excrement is by far the most popular...
All that's missing is a word for non-extruded solid excrement.

  7. Cat litter on the top of the toilet seat?
Nah, just want to train the little bastard ( its' parents aren't
married ) to tell me /wake me up, and let him outside.

Think there is a Utoobe video of how to wash a cat in the toilet,
    apparently,... should be fun

Oh, Hammond stuff is pretty nice, but they market a box, with a tube
for AA cells, at a riduclous price

I think those enclosures are tubular....
It just seems tricky to fasten the power devices to the case body
after the PCB is in tube..

    I dunno....
I might just get two [ channels from the local metal shop and some how
    put that together..

  10. How about a piece of the square aluminum tubing used to make screened
    "Florida" rooms?

The term is "Vaillancourt Fountain", said to have been donated to the
city by a dog with square intestines:

A squareish 'turd in the plaza'?

    Here's Henry Moore's "The Archer" ca. 1966:

but I prefer his "Two Large Forms", who seem to be on the verge of
    some kind of sexual encounter:

Do some searching around for electricians "wall duct" - there is some
aluminium stuff not like the hammond extrusion (but without the pcb slots
etc). Much cheaper. Used for running cables along skirtings, placing GPOs
    etc.

    wow! :)
    I've seen that..but I didn't think about using it.
I'll check out some of the local electrical distributors.
    Thanks..

Can they be trained to flush?

Flush training could be skipping if one of those optical auto flushing
    gizmos are installed..
The same thing that's used for airports and shopping mall washrooms.

Now there's a product idea.. The Electronic Kitty Flush!!
