Lastly, "Treehouse of Horror VIII," which has one of the greatest lines in
the show's history. In the instalment "The Homega Man," France launches a
nuclear missile to strike Springfield, and we see Comic Book Guy walking
down the street, hot dog in one hand and comic book in the other. "But
Aquaman, you cannot marry a woman without gills. You're from two different
worlds!" He then looks up, sees the missile bearing down on him, and says,
"Oh, I've wasted my life."

The missile has "Intel Inside" emblazoned on the outside.
Yup...I remember that one... :)
Joke analysis:
The Intel sticker is required for marketing purposes... no matter what
it's used in.
Or
It's useless to have a label on something no one will be alive to see.
Or
Who knows what the CPU will be in...it still needs an Intel sticker.
Or
Intel is just another company making military products.

You're an idiot.

Duhhh.... I must be an idiot... I can't figure out why I'm getting
called an idiot??
It's just a theory to a joke in a Simpsons episode.

My theories on marketing and consumer psychology......
The CPU is hidden in a box. A sticker on the box shows people what's
inside .."Ahhh there's an Intel inside". Less mystery..more comfort..
The clever marketing is that AMD or other, do not have "AMD Inside
stickers".
The marketing dept. believes people will go for a sticker they
recognize as opposed to a blank box...
As for the Simpsons episode.....
Missiles with the "Intel Inside" sticker could have more sales than
missiles without the sticker..
My guess it's a marketing joke.

yeah they do...

Damn...I've been brainwashed by Intel commercials ...
I'm not even noticing AMD stickers now :)
I just looked in my computer junk box and found an AMD CPU sticker for
an old system I had...

I often see custom builds over here... The techs don't bother to put
the Intel Inside sticker (which comes with the cpu) on the case.
I stuck my Intel Inside sticker on an elevator door.
Maybe it'll scare some people :)

That sticker would read "No Intel-ligence Inside" for you.
The BC tard as well.

Let me guess...You guys have the extra large "Intel Inside" stickers
on your computer cases....Applied by yourself with a squeegee.
Maybe your computer has glowing blue fans too...

Mine does, but I had to stick it on myself - it was packed with the
Athlon 64 CPU/heatsink assembly.

Cheers!

Ok ok... I give...my statement implied that AMD stickers don't exist
is completely wrong..(I was working with some plastic solvents when I
wrote that.. :)
But was there a time I was right?
Wasn't it Intel that started the CPU case sticker thing?
Then AMD followed?
Or did both companies do the same at the same time?

I might put the Intel sticker on if it had:
"Intel Hyperthreading Quad Core Inside"
Just to show off..

I first started to not like iNtel when they came up with that asinine
segmentation scheme for the 808x series.

Then, after the "486 + 100 = 585.999997423174892" incident, I have
refused to spend any money on anything that's even been TOUCHED by
iNtel.

Thanks,
Rich

Just tell a few posters that they're idiots on the "Jihad needs......"
thread.
That'll bring it back for a awhile.
