Is there a U.S. distribution location for this meter? I have contacted the
associated website listed in a previous post ( and linked to from your URL
above) and it does not appear to be very professionally operated. I'm VERY
reluctant to shoot my money that direction. But I would like to buy one of

I had the same feeling when I first saw that website (what to do if the guy
just takes the money?). But after hearing the comments I from someone who
ordered his ESR meter there, I reluctantly decided to take the gamble.

My dealings with EVB did not leave a professional impression of the (one
man) company. I always got prompt and friendly responses on all of my
e-mails, but the payment method (international money transfer order) is
clumsy to say the least. But the most important thing is that the ESR meter
itself is very well build and it was well packaged when it arrived. So for
me the gamble paid off. Even though I don't make that many repairs these
days the ESR meter already has earned itself back.

Hi again Bob,
I completely agree with Peter van Merkerk's comments. The EVB meter
is very well made but because he's only been in the ESR meter business
for a few months, some aspects of the operation are still a bit rough
and need to be improved.
The Dick Smith Electronics version of the meter is almost the same,
though it doesn't look quite as professional.

look at the bottom of the page, you'll see links to the North American
companies who are re-selling the DSE meters both in kit form and
assembled.
