Relative newbie here, so forgive any obvious mistakes. I'm trying to power my ESP01 chip (3.3V input, up to 300mA current draw), and I'm considering using AA batteries for the power supply. Can the chip handle a 3V input only using 2 batteries, or should i use 3 or 4 batteries to have 4.5V/6V input. If so, can you recommend any regulators to step down to 3.3v and >300mA?

Essentially, I'm trying to minimize the number of components and the cost.

3V would likely to be a minimum and the chip may become erratic in operation once the batteries flatten and drop below that voltage
the datasheet for the chip will give max and min voltage requirements

there's a number of 3.3V reg's out there do a little googling :)
