Hello I've been searching around but can not figure out the chip manufacturer.

its a 16 pin ic out of a dynamike 1990 vocoder toy from Ohio art, I use to be able to get the radio through it, by putting the telephone wall wires into the jack when I was a kid. took it apart back then but ended up breaking it, nearly 30 years later I brought another off ebay to reverse engineer it and build my own version.

Trouble is I didn't expect this chip to be so hard to source, or find out any information on it.

details written on chip:-
ES5100 ©1990ESS
ICS1420
9028

Any help in the company id or a source on buying new ic would be great help.

I didn't try to source the part, but suspect it has a proprietary part number on it, owned by the toy manufacturer.

Another option could be to explain what sort of thing you'd be interested in doing and maybe people could suggest how to get there from a different starting point.

Seems to not know what the chip is either, talking about it maybe being an ADC or CCD.

Other hits online seem to suggest thatthe chip is connected to ISD who made analogue storage chips used for messages such as those spoken messages that some PC motherboards had for things like "No hard drive found".

Hello,

I have used google to translate the page and copied the part about the ICS chip:
Dear Ferenc!
website

Thanks for the news.
> Is that what I think of BEAG at some level?
I looked it up on the web, I just found a commemoration of BEAG,
as with several telecommunications companies from the 90s onwards
they failed, resp. atala.
BEAG Elektroakusztikai kft. Is listed in the telephone directory.

could there be incredible drags > AD converters etc ...
I saw a pitch up / down modifier
the following label is 16 good chips: ES5100 1989ESS ICS1420 9038
I don't know the manufacturer, logo: C letter in a hoop.
They may have been solved with a CCD, but it may also be
to A / D converter, I don't know.
(I find it conceivable that it was originally for military purposes
developed such, then later lost its significance
and returned to the gaming market.)
I was thinking that the pitch was down
there is no problem with modositas. Recorded in real time
I play back the sound more slowly. A spoken word
thus, stretching continuously, strengthens the loudspeaker from the loudspeaker
heard back. (very long words should be avoided. :)
Yes, but when they're modified up, it can't work,
for if the word is then shortened, the increased play speed
consequently, it should be uttered first before
vegig. :)
This paradox-suspicious problem will perhaps be a good head-on.
What could be the solution?

Just make a version on a breadboard, and play with values etc
