I'm still not sure what to measure for voltages in this flat panel monitor
that goes dim about 2 seconds after I power it up. It's so dim, you need to
look at it very close in the dark to see a faint picture.

Does anyone have any schematics, have any experience with this model, or
can lead me to a site that may have some tips?

Thanks in advance

Peter:
It sounds like your back-light is going off. Probably the inverter is
bad.
Hold a NE2 (Neon gas) bulb near the transformer on the inverter board.
The gas will glow if the transformer is working and generating the 900
to
1200 volts AC needed by the back-light bulbs.
Check for bad electrolytic capacitors on the inverter. Also check the
capacitor (if there is one) at the primary of the transformer.
Hope this helps...

I'm new to the theory of flat panels. Besides an inverter being a logic
gate, what is it in regards to this circuit?

Thanks

The inverter he's speaking of is a circuit that generates the high
voltage for the fluorescent backlight - like an electronic ballast.

Time to get a professional involved with servicing the product.
