I don't buy from spammers. vonage does the same thing, and doesn't
spam newsgroups. Gues where my money will go if I ever decide to go
VOIP? (hint: not you)

I just sent the following message to [email protected]:

Dear Sir:
Recently, your company chose to spam our usenet newsgroup,
alt.energy.homepower. Be advised this is highly offensive.
I will, at any opportunity, attempt to take down the reputation of your
company.

I have a prediction, or rather a couple, in order of liklihood:

1. Ignored completely.
2. "We don't know what you're talking about, this 'john' doesn't work
for us"
3. "You can always just hit delete, what's your problem you big whiner?"

Did you send it to their upstream (as I did)? Depending on who gives
them bandwidth, sometimes that gets better (faster) results. These
guys already know they're spammers, but the provider may not. Judicious
mention of relatime blackhole lists can sometimes smarten up an
upstream.

Looks like it, but I've done about 6 since this one, so I couldn't swear
to it. Yeah, the chances of someone in singapore doing something about
their customer/spammer are low, but still...

Ah, option 4. "OK, thank you, we'll deal with it...". I'm guessing the
sincerity isn't there, but maybe I'm just overly cynical.
