Curious about Energy Efficient mortgages . Can you get a Energy
efficient mortgage other than thru the government (fanne mae , etc ) ?

    not to be dense,
I fail to see how a mortgage is anything but a mortgage.
Some builders offer energy efficient homes, but that has little to do with
    the mortgage.
    At least to me.

The Energy Efficient Mortgages Program (EEM) helps homebuyers or homeowners
save money on utility bills by enabling them to finance the cost of adding
energy-efficiency features to new or existing housing as part of their
FHA-insured home purchase or refinancing mortgage.

Sounds a lot like spending more than you should. Another marketing tool to
get people into more than they should be in.

    google is your friend

SQLit I agree with your assessment. I did find three mortgage companies
here in Ohio that sell energy efficient mortgages.
  4. Based on Don Lancaster's economic theorem that Energy = $$, then I guess an
energy efficient mortgage is the one that's cheapest :)
