I am working on an ADCOM GFA 555 II. I need to replace an emittier resistor and am having trouble finding an exact replacement. It is only a two leg white wire wound resistor markings BPR28, 0.22K, KOA. Can I use any Axial lead wire wound resistor as the emitter resistor and what is the normal tolerance.

have you got a pic of the board and the resistor in question ?

why do you think the resistor is faulty ?
Is that one resistor falling apart ( crumbling) ?
have you compared it to the other 0.22 Ohm emitter resistors ?
You do realise that its basically going to measure short circuit on most multimeters ?

It is cracked. and yes I know they will read short circuit, the others read about 6 ohms.
it is just a white emitter resisitor but not a dual resistor
