Hey Frank!

How are you making out with the M1?
You weren't posting for a while so I was figuring you were hooking it up.
Are you doing anything interesting with it?

Scratching the surface eh? So, you haven't even managed to remove the
knockouts yet?
C'mon, Frank, you sound like Bass.... is it still in the cardboard box?

Well, at least you're honest about it. The crack about the knockouts was
deliberate. On the early cans (and a beautiful can it is), they didn't score
the holes deep enough and the paint is thick... the knockouts are a bugger
to remove.
Lay the can on a carpet on cement (not upside down!) and bang away at the
score with a sledge and cold chisel.

I'm surprised. I couldn't wait to fire the thing up and rip out all the
relays and powerflashes and that dorky activehome stuff from my old FBII
system.
They have an industrial buzzer selection for a siren sound and it also has
that dumbass sound wav that clown at Alarmforce uses in his sleaze
commercials.
Most entertaining piece of gear I've ever played with.

You might want to do that before selling one. I'd qualify my buyers if you
want them happy. They'd have to be DIY nerd types like in the HA group
otherwise you'll simply be inundated with calls and queries. It's a labour
intensive panel which, I guess, keeps it safe from the lick and stick crowd.

Actually it's been running for about a month now. I haven't gotten around
to installing a third keypad, but that's on the agenda this weekend. You'll
notice I "winked"...

I like to pull the wires in from the back of the can. I don't like using
the knock-outs on the sides.

Same here. Only I was using a DSC Power 832.

Puh-leeze ... We call them "Alarm Farce". It suits their commercials...

if I had something major like the M1 I'd have had it up and running in an
hour, give me another half hour and I'd be poking around in programming and
have sent a few signals, 2 more and I'd be on the downloading software and
by the end of the day have made a wiring diagram and have added the basics
to my helpfile

....still learning the steps... <snicker>

It's been "up and running" for about a month. We had some friends living in
the suite downstairs (while their own home was being completed) and I've
just installed another keypad at the side entrance to the house. My older
son and his girlfriend will be living there. What's up with you and Goofy
Muderator?? Group's too peacful for you I guess...

HAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAAHA................:)

I come back in town, read all this shit about how I shouldn't of
helped Aaron.....

But there is ONE constant. Thanks Mike!!

Have you fired one up Mikey?

What feedback can you give us, if so?

Yep. I have one in here, Graham. Lot's of fun. Some bugs but nothing major.
It is one fun panel, I connect thru the serial port in about 2 seconds. They
have lot's of neat stuff coming down the pipe as well. I wish more folks
were using them so I could pick up more tips on the automation programming.
I have lights fading up to a nice dim level for walking around the place in
the wee hours. It's a decent alarm panel and very good at the automation
stuff. When you consider all the shit it can do, voice dialer, voice ( I
have a speaker on each floor) and telephone remote, it's really not all that
pricey.

That sounds neat. Do you participate in the dealer forum for support?
