    is it the battery, im just a little confused about it being in two places in the diagram?

    yes its the battery, in the first example the overall battery/charger is cylindrical (like a "D" or "C" sized cell and they have just spread out the battery into 2 parts. with the way that it will be connected internally, you can still think of it as just a single battery with two "cells"

    thats quite neat, thanks for the link, didnt know they were producing reghargable lithium polymer's like that
