Dynamic microphones in regular soundcards

Hey, i've got an audigy2 soundcard in my computer, and someone told me
that i can't use my dynamic mic straight in to the microphone port on
account of a 3V DC bias that'd cause problems with dynamic mics but is
needed for condensors. now, keeping in mind i have no idea what he's
talking about, is there any ways to fix this?

It's just a regular jack socket on an audigy isn't it?

I use dynamic mics in my phantom powered (48V) mixing desk - no damage to
the desk or mic

At 3V, you ain't gonna do any damage to your mic.

Check the Mic connector on the sound card by plugging a normal
stereo plug into it and measuring the voltages. Usually, the mic
element is connected between the tip and the body, and the bias
voltage is on the ring. If so, then you can make a simple adaptor
for your dynamic mic that avoids the ring. This actually happens
"automatically" if the mic plug is a mono-type, since it just shorts
out the bias. The bias comes through a resistor on the card
and shouldn't mind being shorted. So if you have a mono plug
on your mic, you may want to just go ahead and use it.
