Hello,
I am an engineering student and want to run a home project by
myself on DSP. Lets say some audio based work for myself. But I am in
a vast ocean to make a decission on which I shall work on. Can anyone
give me an idea to do forth? Wishing you all happy times.

I believe we can never have too much work in the area of signal
extraction from areas of high intrinsic noise levels.

That's true, but perhaps a bit much for an undergraduate student.

Audio is a nice experimental realm as the current DSPs can sample fast
enough there. How about a graphic equalizer? Or, less ambitious, how about
a DSP based sub-woofer? Really ambitious ... how about a DSP that simulates
surround sound from two channels?

Have fun and learn!

Ok Charles. Have it your way. Hurry up Arafat - your deadline is COB
this Friday. Next week my idea, OK? :)

Of course you're right Charles. However, some of today's up and comers
are simply brilliant. The future is completely open to you Arafat!

Good luck to you!

Pete

Thank you for your replies. Sure, graphics equalizer looks like the
right thing to try, I can practize FFT/IFFT with it. What DSP family
(board) to use ?
