Mr Calm and Collected speaks again !

What makes you think I can't be calm, collected, and profane all at
the same time, motherfucker?[/QUOTE]

It's not that you "can't", it's just that calm collectedness is very
seldom associated with profanity. ;-)

Thanks,
Rich

Huh? He was a little bit, um, abrupt, but I don't find his post "rude,
obnoxious and ignorant" at all. :)

It was certainly ignorant since he is equating a pristine simulation
to the vagaries of the real world. It was rude because of the way he
tossed simulation input data into the discussion rather than an
explanation of the idea. It was obnoxious because he felt the need to
use profanity (even in an abbreviation it is still a profanity).

I understand that some may not have been offended by his initial post,
but I feel the subsequent posts have vindicated my opinion. I
especially find his physical threats to be very amusing. It would
seem he expects the relative anonymity of newsgroups to protect him
from an unknown aversary. He would be pretty stupid to actually
challenge someone that he knows nothing about. But then we all know
how empty a threat is that consists of words typed on an electronic
page.

Hmmmmmm OK...

Chill out dude. There is no need to display your ignorance or be rude about
things. Life's too short for that. I know this from experience.

There you go, how does that sit with you?

Are you now going to type a 247 line answer in your own defense?

How long before you start accusing people of Ad Hominem attacks?

BTW, Rich made a suggestion.... John gave him an answer. There was nothing
implied in the answer that suggested that the netlist was anything more than
a picture to demonstrate the answer. A picture paints a thousand words you
know....

You might notice his other posts in this thread where he spent a great deal
of time explaining things along with lots of nice ascii art.

The response to Rich was niether ignorant or rude. You just decided to take
hold of the wrong end of the wrong stick and call John Ignorant and Rude.
Why are you surprised he responded in the manner he did.

John typed BFD....... good grief Big Deal.

Anonimity? I don't think so.

John Fields AKA Il Presidente. Austin Instruments, Texas

And you would also know that whilst they are not close friends John and Rich
know each other through SED so Johns answer to Rich would not have offended
him in the least.

What is that part about lurking in a newsgroup before you open your mouth
and put your foot in it?

What profanity? "BFD"?

BFD.

Erm..... Don't know really. I'm not too good at this touchy feely stuff. I
suppose I must feel good. Mr Rickman must have me on PLONK since he has
replied to Rich but ignored my post.

Strange that.... insult one person you perceive to have insulted someone
else and then chew on the other person because they were not insulted.

That Rich Grise is an ungrateful bandicoot and no mistaking! He's probably
really Canadian and therefore French and we know all about those types.

It was certainly ignorant since he is equating a pristine simulation

---
Not at all. The purity of simulation allows the vagaries of the
real world (of which simulation is a part, BTW) to be studied in
ways which would be impossible without it.

Sorry you didn't get it.

Never mind predicting the behavior of circuits using 100 million
transistors, Just think about a wind tunnel and how many lives
_haven't_ been lost because of that sort of simulation.

Even yours, perhaps, in which case had it not been for simulation,
which you decry, we wouldn't be having this discussion.
---
It was rude because of the way he
tossed simulation input data into the discussion rather than an
explanation of the idea.

---
Again, not at all. (IMO, of course)

Most of us here are bright enough to extrapolate an end given a
beginning and a bit or two of data, and that's the fun of it,
comparing the ends. But you're new here, aren't you?

Welcome to the garden of earthly delights!

I'm sure you'll fit in just fine.
---
It was obnoxious because he felt the need to
use profanity (even in an abbreviation it is still a profanity).

---
Well 4Q2!

Ah, profanity! The language of the gods. Gettin' down and dirty
and not pulling any punches, and you still have to call someone
who's fucked your sister, "Dad" ?

Are you as fat as Guy Macon?

Strange, but I get a vision of you as a porker. Maybe just the way
you write.
---
I understand that some may not have been offended by his initial post,
but I feel the subsequent posts have vindicated my opinion.

---
Yes, of course you're right, and I'm shit (with a capital "I")
and will soon become the fertilizer of your choice.
---
I especially find his physical threats to be very amusing. It would
seem he expects the relative anonymity of newsgroups to protect him
from an unknown aversary.

---
Adversary? That's for the birds. How sweet it would have been if I
hadn't had to explain it.
---
He would be pretty stupid to actually challenge someone that he knows
nothing about.

---
That's true, but so far your vague threats don't carry much weight.

Are you .gov and you want to kill me because I can easily de
monstrate how fucking stupid you are?

Amazing medium, this.

But then we all know that.

Oops...
I missed that one earlier.

Go back and read the post again and you might find that I wasn't
making physical threats, but rather making allusions to the
background you must have had in order to be speaking from
"experience".

And, a correction: "Adversary" isn't for the birds, "aversary" is.

Yes, I think we are all missing something here.

I can tell from your posts that you don't offend easily. I hope you
did not think any of my posts were criticizing you.

"We?"

Tonto and the Lone Ranger were out of ammunition and surrounded by
Indians, and the Lone Ranger said, "What are we going to do, Tonto?"
To which Tonto replied, "What you mean 'we', white man?"

Nah - I just consider it "banter". :)

Just for the sake of keeping in the spirit of things:

"A wise man is never insulted, for the Truth will increase his wisdom,
and an Untruth is not worthy of note."

I have no idea who said it first, but I like it. It gives me the
opportunity to pretend I'm wise. ;-)

Cheers!

Well, if I were going to bed with someone, I think I'd prefer a "pussy"
to a "prick"! ;-P

It is said:

"Don't argue with idiots. It only makes more difficult for the others to
see the difference between you and them".

I have no idea who said it first, but I like it. It gives me the
opportunity to pretend I'm wise. ;-)

I am not sure if I can see any difference between you guys...
