Does DeoxIT really remove oxidation?

X-No-Archive: Yes

I obtained a small tube of DeoxIT D100 and despite the package
statement, it wouldn't remove oxidation, at least not from copper.

Find an old penny. Put a bit of vinegar. It dissolves the copper
oxide and becomes shiny. Try the same with DeoxIT. NOTHING!

So, it doesn't remove oxidation and plated contacts typically are
plated of a material that do not oxidize, so how exactly does the
DeoxIT magic work?

You might want to ask in rec.audio.pro

There's many ppl there who recommend it. It's about more than removing oxidation
I think.
