Do the caps on your lead acid batteries leak acid ?
I found the cause of these leaks to be a mold release defect in the caps
that can be easily removed.

I also keep the level of acid in my batteries fairly low and add water
monthly. The tops of my batteries stay clean and dry and I don't need to do
the baking soda cleanup business anymore.
Enjoy your batteries!
