After much effort, I helped arranged for the State University of New
York to offer a distance-learning (i.e., home study), for-credit,
undergraduate class in transistor theory for this Spring. At the
moment, however, enrollment is a bit low, so I am trying to promote
the class to get others to sign up. If there is enough enrollment by
the end of this coming week (the week of 1/16/2006), the class will be
offered. Course description and link to the Web site follow.

TE22 • ELT222 Electronics I: Operation and application of diodes,
bipolar and field effect transistors and thryistors. Laboratory
portion illustrates use of electronic equipment to test ideas
presented in the lecture. (3 hrs. lecture, 2 hrs. laboratory.)
[This distance learning class, which is Section 6943, has a home "lab"
using simulation software on the computer.]

For a link to the course description Web site, go to:
http://www3.sunysuffolk.edu/Courses/msol.asp#TE22
(Select "Electrical Engineering Technology" for the Academic Area, and
don't worry about the other selections, and then select [Submit].)
Again, this distance learning version of the class is Section 6943.
From there you can also find links to register for the class, pay
tuition, etc.
