Displays with more than 7 segments

I have seen some displays that besides the typical 7 segments, also have 4 or more diagonal segments. The ones I saw were in finished products but I have not seen them available as individual digits.
I would appreciate any information about manufacturers and or distributors. In a recent project I created a 4 digit display with 7 seg. driven by a MAX7219.
I also wonder if there are drivers like thee MAX7219 that will handle more than 7 segments.
Any help will be apprecisted.

Google 15 segment displays...

The MAX7219 will still work, you just need to implement and use it as 64 individual LEDs...

The Holtek HT1632C will also work quite well...

14 and 16 are the more common designations. 15 is just a 14 where they count the decimal point.
