Morning all,
My monitor has the following fault
Hight varies considerably from say.
normal high to very small.
Most of the time the display will jump up and down.....
Any ideas?,
Mitch
Hello Mitch,
my old monitor played up like yours for a few weeks
before finally failing completely.
When first switched on, the monitor display was erratic
then became steady after a few minutes, so I didn't
worry about it. Then one morning it wouldn't switch on
at all.
Just for fun, I checked the electrolytic capacitors in the
switch mode power supply with Bob Parker's famous ESR
tester and found seven dodgy capacitors. (Thanks Bob)
Replaced the dodgy looking electrolytic caps that measured
from a few ohms to 15 ohms and the monitor now has a
nice steady display again. I am not saying that your fault
will be the same as mine but it might be a good place to
start looking. Good Luck. Have Fun!
Observe the usual safety precautions.
