I am currently designing a digital alarm clock for the blind.

Does anyone know how some watches/ phones update the time automatically.
This could be a key feature on this project.

Any help would be much appreciated

What are you using for a controller?
Just a 555 and Logic circuit, or are you designing and programming using a microcontroller?

The only way that I have experience with is pulling it from either a cell phone signal, or pulling it from a computer/wireless network

There is a national (U.S.) radio signal that is connected to the Atomic Clock in Colorado that can be used to set it as well
